Presentation: Epilogue

I feel like the presentation went pretty well. I feel that I worked enough on my game to impress people and, other than a lengthy lecture about copyright infringment, everyting seemed to go pretty smoothly. I took everyone's feedback to heart and will make subtle changes, but overall my game will be pretty much the same.

Backtrack: What I learned

Working on my game I learned a few new things. I learned what foods are the most healthy and which foods will probably cause some intestenal damage.
It wasn't that hard to find out most of my information as there are dozens, if not hundreds of various health food related sites. It was all just a simple matter of typing it in a search bar.

New Start: Assembling my demo

I feel like I learned a lot more about what foods are healthy since I've worked on my demo. I had somewhat of a grasp on the subject but never went any deeper. I've learned which healthy foods are the most healthy. I had to learn this because I had to know which towers should be strongest and show which foods will be the hardest for your body to fight off.
If I could talk to journalist to improve the learning process, I would try and find out if people could make a more organized list of which foods are healthier and which foods aren't. I usually find what foods are healthy, but I always had to go and look up each food individually.
It was rather easy to get my information. I used the magical power of Google and it proved to be pretty effective.

day 7:Visual Storytelling

I feel I am using visual storytelling by placing my veggies in a battle with the junk food. By showing the actual fighting, it shows the struggle our bodies go through fighting and how that if you make the right decisions, you can win in the end. My game will show that the more junk food that you eat, the more healthy foods you must eat to compensate for it to keep your body healthy. You need a balenced diet and that is what will defend you.

Day 6: Video reflections

I feel that my video gave me a slightly better understanding of how my game is going to work. It does seem weird doing a tower defence game on paper, but it worked pretty well. I don't think I'll modify much of my game, because I think it will work really well the way it is already designed. It would be really hard to modify it anyway, because that would cause some major changes in my idea. But, I am really glad I was able to the paper prototype so I could see how my game would work.

Day 5: Mingame reflections

The minigame was just my first step into creating my own games. It wasn't all that hard and I learned a lot about basic coding. The best thing about this was being able to learn how to make things move and attack. But, it was pretty confusing near the end making all the different symbols do their jobs.

day 4: My game: continued

Hello! my name is Gabe and my game is going to be about Healthy eating, but i'm going to make it fun. I've decided to make a strategy game of the tower defence variety. By making an interesting and engaging game, people will be able to learn and have fun at the same time.

Day 3:My Game

After thinking out what kind of games I like and which would best represent a social issue, I've decided I will make a tower defence type game with an emphasis on healthy eating. A parade of junk food will enter the screen on a set path and you must set up various healthy foods to repel them.

Day 2

Danger!                                                                                            Identity theft!
It's very important to protect your identity when you are using the internet. If you give out your information, criminals could get a hold of it. Also, you don't always want people seeing everything you do. It's important to keep your things to yourself. The world doesn't want to see a lot of the pictures anyway.

Day 1

It started with simple instructions. Make a blog. I pick a template and get to work. This all seems silly; who would want to read my blog? Maybe Chimi, but he is far too busy in his current endeavors. I hope that in this course, I'll be able to create Flash games fluently. I think I'll attempt a plane flying game or something along the lines of that. I'll have to put more thought into it. I'm really excited that I get to learn this. I've wanted to be able to do this for a long time. But, I am afraid my game will not turn out how I want. I hope I get to finish it.

And my game will involve him!
